Get to know the story behind Downtown Spooner’s new sophisticated-rustic boutique, Trillium Home.

While Trillium Home opened its doors in Downtown Spooner in March 2020, it’s been a dream in the making for years. Owner Vicki Martin had always wanted to open a sophisticated-rustic boutique where she could offer unique home décor, floral decor, apparel, and accessories.

After receiving her interior design degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Vicki gained valuable experience in both the interior design industry and the retail world. She was the interior designer for historical renovation projects, including the Nicollet Island Inn in Minneapolis, MN, and Fitger’s Brewery in Duluth, MN. She also worked as a store display designer and buyer for home furniture and accessories stores.

As her career progressed, Vicki fell in love with the retail store experience and today considers Trillium Home the result of her dream and years of hard work. She is honored to have the opportunity to share her business with Downtown Spooner shoppers.

Meeting the Need for Sophisticated, Rustic Décor

When Vicki moved to Spooner, WI, from the Twin Cities, she struggled to find accessories for her home that combined the sophistication of the city with the rustic look of the Northwoods. This helped her to realize it was time to get started on developing her business to meet the needs of Spooner area homeowners.

Vicki’s approach to home décor and interior design is getting to know clients and helping them to create a home that is unique to them with the right, personalized finishing touches. She established Trillium Home with this philosophy in mind.

Offering a One-of-a-Kind Shopping Experience

Whether customers are searching for a special gift or need help updating their home’s style, Trillium Home provides a fun, memorable shopping experience. Located in a newly renovated building at 237 Walnut Street in Downtown Spooner, the shop has created a shared space with The Chocolate Studio and features a dedicated holiday shop, October through December.

Admittedly not your typical “up north” tourist shop, Vicki and the Trillium Home team strive to provide attentive customer service and a personalized shopping experience for each customer. She welcomes Spooner residents, visitors, and people traveling from surrounding areas to stop by to see something new and interesting happening in Downtown Spooner.
